This course provides 160 hours of instruction and hands-on experience preparing students to pass the Oregon Commercial Driver’s License test. Students must have a valid Oregon CDL Learner’s permit in order to begin instruction.
• Class times: 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. M, T, W, Th, F
• All classes begin at CTS Classroom Building
• Basic structure:
- 5 days classroom instruction: you must pass written quizzes
- 5 days yard training: must demonstrate ability to perform certain tasks
- 10 days driving practice: must demonstrate ability to execute specific maneuvers

Familiarizing yourself with manual sections 1-3 and 5-9 (86 pages) before the start of classes will help you make the most of in-class instruction on this material.
Academic Performance Assessment
Overall academic performance will be assessed with reference to three components. Classroom instruction comprehension of will be assessed by student performance on written quizzes.
The yard and road training portions of this course will be assessed by student ability to perform specified actions directed by instructor based on standard checklists.
